Auto Emblems in Australia - The Ivan Hoffmann Collection

This web-site presents emblems (also referred to as badges, mascots, scripts, logos etc.) displayed on automobiles since the introduction of the horseless carriage and have been collected by Ivan Hoffmann. The Collection is mostly "uncommon" early emblems of marques and contains about 300 makes of automobiles. In July 2024 this Collection was donated by Ivan Hoffmann to the National Motor Muesum, Birdwood, South Australia.

Eisenacher Motoren-Werke (EMW)

Eisenacher Motoren-Werke (EMW) was in production from 1945 until 1955, then it became Automolilwerk Eisenach, (see Wartburg post).

The original BMW factory was split due to Germany being divided into East Germany and West Germany with this part of the factory in East Germany becoming part of the IFA (Industrieverband Fahrzeugbau).
