Vanden Plas was founded in 1870 by Guillaume van den Plas in Belgium, being a coachbuilder. Vanden Plas started in England in 1913, still as coachbuilders, and during 1924-1931 they built bodies for luxury marques including Bentley and from the 1930's for further marques and the English Royalty. The Vanden Plas marque was from 1958 until 1979. Vanden Plas was latter used as a model name on Austin/Rover and Jaguar/Daimler vehicles.
The Vander Plas Princess was produced by British Motor Corporation from 1959 until 1968.
