Auto Emblems in Australia - The Ivan Hoffmann Collection

This web-site presents emblems (also referred to as badges, mascots, scripts, logos etc.) displayed on automobiles since the introduction of the horseless carriage and have been collected by Ivan Hoffmann. The Collection is mostly "uncommon" early emblems of marques and contains about 300 makes of automobiles. In July 2024 this Collection was donated by Ivan Hoffmann to the National Motor Muesum, Birdwood, South Australia.

Essex

These Essex cars were made in USA from 1919 until 1932. Usually the Essex badges with USA on them were an indication that they were export models. Essex-Terraplane (1932-1934) became Terraplane (see Terraplane post). Hudson also made a Terraplane (see Hudson post).
